Tutors stay in that role during ordinary lessons instead of repeatedly narrating system identity or generic limitations, and remain recognizably themselves during both learning and casual chat while staying honest when identity or a meaningful boundary is relevant.

Begin on the Whiteboard with an automatic lesson focus, then use Canvas, Map, YouTube, Books, HTML, Document, Code Editor, Quiz, and account-backed Homework when the task needs them. Books finds real titles and opens rights-limited Google Books previews; HTML combines raw HTML, CSS, SVG, and bounded JavaScript inside an isolated iframe for rich explanations and small interactions.

Chat controls

  • Tutor settings: adjust reply depth, reasoning, teaching pace, correction style, lesson mode, speech style, and voice for the active tutor.
  • Conversation display: messages include local timestamps. Tutor replies support rich Markdown, responsive tables, links, task lists, and highlighted code.
  • Window controls: maximize chat for focused reading or minimize it to the title bar. During a minimized call, the timer, mute, end-call control, connection state, and voice activity remain available.
  • Conversation continuity: signed-in message history and relevant saved learner context help returning tutors continue without repeating the whole introduction.

Voice controls and AI credits

  • Microphone mode: speak naturally and hear the tutor answer. Your browser must have microphone permission.
  • Typed-input mode: type with the keyboard while the tutor replies by voice. The tutor is told which input mode you chose.
  • Lesson timing: the tutor can query the authoritative lesson timer, but reports elapsed or remaining time only when you explicitly ask.
  • Hosted access: voice requires sign-in and uses your current plan. Free through Pro pause when their monthly AI credits run out; MAX has no monthly cap for individual learning. The account menu and profile show the current allowance.
  • Connection safety: long lessons proactively refresh the underlying Live socket before its provider connection window, using the latest resumable session handle. Announced disconnects and eligible unannounced lifecycle closes also resume automatically; if continuation still fails, the call stops and records detailed diagnostics in chat.

Automatic focus and whiteboard

The classroom opens on Whiteboard while a concise lesson focus is prepared in the background from your request, tutor profile, duration, and any linked path session. The board supports rectangle selection, pen and marker strokes, text, arrows, shapes, references, an insert library, independent width and height controls, rotation, keyboard deletion, undo, and redo. Tutor drawing offers Sketch, Image, and SVG modes; Auto chooses from explicit request rules, while a manual selection keeps the chosen mode. Sketches, generated images, and SVG graphics animate into place while existing board items remain visible. Image generation is available on Plus, Pro, and MAX. Board settings control drawing style, playback, and algorithmic constructions.

Doodle Studio includes 79 searchable, narrated visual types across organizers, thinking tools, school subjects, creative symbols, algorithms, and Tech, School, Everyday, Nature, and Transport object tabs. Each tab offers Auto, Live only, or Flash-Lite only. Auto uses Live for quick actions and Flash-Lite for complex work; Live only requires an active call. Dedicated image and video generation is available only in Auto. For marker sketches, set a path budget plus Unlimited when you want Gemini to use its response maximum. Click AI Draw, describe an original object or scene, and generate it. With preview enabled, inspect a safe SVG made from the exact validated Gemini paths before choosing Draw on whiteboard. Generated vectors stay on the whiteboard at the previewed position and proportions, where they can be resized, rotated, paused during playback, or deleted.

Sharing is deliberate. Whiteboard Auto sync can send completed edits after you pause; turn it off when you want new board changes to remain local until you choose Show tutor or Update tutor. Canvas, Map, YouTube, Books, HTML, Document, Code Editor, Quiz, and Homework expose their own activity or save state while tutor actions run. If screen sharing is enabled, it begins only after you choose Share screen and approve a screen, window, or tab in your browser, and it never includes screen audio.

  • Upcoming and past: the Lessons page brings scheduled sessions, recent lesson history, learning paths, and remaining AI credit balance together.
  • One-off scheduling: schedule any tutor directly from their profile without creating a learning path first.
  • Calendar views: switch between day and week layouts. Drag a lesson to reschedule it, resize it to change duration, or use the exact date, time, and duration editor.
  • External calendar sync: use one private read-only subscription to keep lessons visible in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, or another iCalendar-compatible app. Provider refresh times vary.
  • Weekly planning: build a schedule around preferred days and start time while preserving appointments you set manually.

Learning paths

  • Every signed-in plan: every account from Free through MAX can create and save learning paths. Plans differ mainly in monthly AI access, reasoning depth, and generated classroom images.
  • Goal to curriculum: describe what you want to learn and VibeTutor generates a concise title, sequenced sessions, practice, milestones, and progress structure.
  • Multiple paths: create more than one path with the same tutor, rename each path, open its full details page, and continue the next unfinished session.
  • Generation choice: choose the available faster or more advanced generation option. The active plan determines the reasoning depth used for hosted generation.

Courses, tests, and certificates

  • Interactive courses: public courses can include diagrams, mathematical notation, flow charts, highlighted code, interactive examples, checkpoints, and subject-matched tutor support.
  • Course progress: sign in to save chapter completion. Course pages identify AI-generated educational content so you can review important facts independently.
  • Subject self-tests: take free tests across the subjects covered by VibeTutor. Results are indicative rather than accredited grades.
  • Tutor context: saved test results can be shared with relevant tutors so lessons begin closer to your current level.
  • Certificates: your profile lists 100%-complete learning paths, completed courses, and saved self-test records with dates, results, references, and direct source links. These are VibeTutor learning records, not accredited qualifications.

Messages, favorites, and reviews

  • Message Center: signed-in learners can revisit tutor conversations in one dedicated inbox and continue from the tutor profile.
  • Learner context: your saved name, learning level, notes, relevant self-test results, and recent conversation history can help tutors personalize later chats and calls.
  • Favorites: use the bookmark or heart control to save tutors, then open the compact Favorites page from the header account menu.
  • Ratings and reviews: signed-in learners can rate and review tutors. Your submitted reviews also appear on your profile.
  • Public tutor activity: profile views, likes, chats, calls, and recent activity summarize combined learner interest rather than exposing an individual learner.

Settings and themes

  • Profile: review favorites, submitted reviews, certificates, plan dates, usage, and collapsible sign-in diagnostics.
  • Settings: update your learner name, level, tutor context notes, and saved appearance from the dedicated Settings page.
  • Appearance: choose from light, dark, balanced, branded, and true dark themes. The selected theme also applies to the admin console when available.
  • Account navigation: the header account menu links to Profile, Settings, Messages, Lessons, Favorites, plan management, and Sign out.

Plans and AI credits

  • Plan access: every signed-in plan includes tutor chat, saved learning paths, tutor memory, planning, progress, and exports. Plans scale the included monthly AI credit balance and reasoning depth; MAX removes the monthly cap for individual learning.
  • Monthly credits: Free includes 25 credits, Basic 450, Plus 900, and Pro 1,800. Included balances reset monthly and unused credits do not roll over. These four plans pause at zero; MAX is unlimited.
  • Estimated live time: the capped balances are roughly 10, 180, 360, and 720 live voice minutes. This is an estimate, not a minute entitlement. MAX live lessons are unlimited for individual learning.
  • How credits work: one credit represents $0.01 of paid Standard Gemini usage. Text, audio, reasoning, classroom tools, and generated images consume credits according to the selected model and token mix.
  • Monthly subscriptions: paid plans use simple one-month terms. Payment collection is not connected yet, so plan selection currently updates access without charging you.
  • Downgrades: a lower plan is scheduled for the current term's expiry. Existing access and remaining credits stay unchanged until that date, then the new allowance begins.
  • Usage records: Profile and the account header show included, used, and remaining credits together with estimated live minutes and plan dates.

Do I need to provide a Gemini or other AI API key?

No. Public tutor text chat can be tried without supplying a personal key. Sign in to save messages and use account-backed learning paths, collaborative classrooms, and live voice. Free through Pro pause when the current credit balance reaches zero; MAX has no monthly cap for individual learning.

Why am I being asked to sign in?

Public tutor profiles, topics, subjects, guides, courses, revision pages, tools, and self-tests can be explored without an account. Sign-in is required for live voice, classrooms, saved messages, schedules, favorites, reviews, homework, course progress, test history, learning progress, support conversations, and learning paths.

Why will a voice call not start?

Sign in and allow microphone access when using microphone mode. Free through Pro need AI credits remaining in the current cycle; MAX has unlimited individual live-lesson access. Reload the page if the security token expired, or use typed-input mode when microphone permission is unavailable.

What should I do when a call stops with an error?

The call stops immediately so time after the failure is not counted. Review the timestamped error entry, connection details, reference number, and suggested next step in chat. Check your connection, restart the lesson once, and include the reference when contacting support if it repeats.

Why can the tutor not see my classroom work?

Whiteboard Auto sync sends completed edits after you pause; turn it off to keep new changes local until you choose Show tutor or Update tutor. For Canvas, HTML, Document, Code Editor, Quiz, and Homework, wait for the visible tutor-action and save status to finish. A tutor cannot use a local change that was never synced, shared, or submitted through its classroom tool.

Can I control an animated tutor drawing?

Yes. Use Sketch for progressive marker-style paths, Image for a generated raster illustration or photo on Plus, Pro, and MAX, and SVG for an editable vector diagram. Auto selects a mode from explicit request rules, or you can lock one manually. Doodle Studio supplies reusable visuals, while Board settings control tutor drawing style and related board behavior. Animated drawing can be paused, resumed, finished immediately, or stopped while keeping visible work. Completed items remain in place and support grouped resizing, independent width and height changes, rotation, and Delete-key removal.

How do I share my screen with the tutor?

Screen sharing is an optional site capability. When an administrator enables it, start the live lesson, choose Share screen in the classroom header, and select a screen, window, or browser tab in the browser prompt. If the control is hidden, screen sharing is currently disabled for the site.

How do I create and save a learning path?

Sign in, open a tutor profile, and choose Learning paths. Every account from Free through MAX can create multiple paths, save tutor memory and progress, use weekly planning, and export workspace data.

Why is a scheduled lesson showing the wrong time?

VibeTutor stores the lesson timezone and displays the appointment in your current local time. Open the lesson editor to confirm the date, time, timezone, and duration, especially after travelling or changing the device timezone.

Why has my external calendar not updated yet?

Google, Apple, Outlook, and other calendar apps choose when to refresh subscribed calendars, so a VibeTutor change may take several hours and sometimes more than a day to appear. Keep one subscription active and regenerate its private link only if the old link was exposed.

Why did my credits stay the same after choosing a lower plan?

That is expected. A downgrade begins when the current plan term expires, so the existing credit balance remains available until the valid-until date. The lower monthly credit allowance applies from the next plan cycle.
