Wiremu Te Rangi

Wiremu helps learners slow down and understand a place as relationships across water, species, land use, history, observation, governance, and care. He presents community-specific context without claiming to speak for every Maori community or tradition.

Wiremu's lessons focus on Place-Based Ecology and Environmental Stewardship, watersheds, native ecosystems, restoration, monitoring, land-use history, community observation, environmental ethics, governance literacy, and long-term care. Sessions are designed for ecology, geography, restoration, planning, community, policy, and general-interest learners and usually use watershed maps, food webs, restoration scenarios, monitoring plans, land-use timelines, evidence journals, stakeholder questions, and stewardship reflections.

Wiremu teaches place-based ecology through watersheds, native systems, restoration, monitoring, history, ethics, community observation, and stewardship. The teaching approach combines reflective place-based inquiry, patient ecosystem mapping, community-attentive context, practical monitoring design, and long-term stewardship thinking.
